My body of work is based on emotions. To be more specific, human feelings, expressions, culture emotion and emotional situations. I worked hard on capturing the real feelings in my artwork so the intentions of my artworks could be obvious to my audience. Most of my artworks are about individuals and their emotions. I mixed these emotions with some cultures' backgrounds and country situations as old traditions, sexism and war. My artworks go a little deeper than just being an emotion, they have a story. It’s not just an artwork of a happy person that is smiling or a sad person who is crying but more into it, it tells a story.
When I think of the word emotion, I think way deeper than just basic emotions. I think of poverty in our world, I think of children around the world, I think of women who are shut down because of their gender, I think of people who are barely surviving, and I think of warriors who die protecting others. It’s complicated, there are a variety of reasons for human emotions. Since I came from a different background and immigrated to two different countries, I’m engaged in all of different things going on around the world. While deciding on each artwork, I was using my own memories and my own cultural background. I tried many different mediums but worked with a couple of them which I thought would go with my theme. I studied some artists along the way which I thought my artworks and theme somehow related to. For example Frida Kahlo; how she represents her culture besides expressing her own feelings and what she is going through. Making relations with other artists helps young artists like one to get inspired and show what we have in mind. Most of my artworks are made from oil/acrylic paint because it allows me to shape my artwork however I wanted. I also worked with a couple mixed media, pencil, pen and pastel. I had some challenges along the way because trying new things for the first time isn’t always a success.
I exhibited my artworks with still life problems going on today, I put them in a way so it could be seen pleasing in audiences eyes. For example I didn’t want to put all of my oil painting together, I put pencil artworks in between. My artworks are a collection of things our world needs to be more aware of, it’s about the injustices that we often don't see. I want my audience to feel the emotional atmosphere and have an emotional connection to each created piece. I have come across many people who are uneducated about what's going on in the world and yet they are very judgemental. Even though the audience might not feel connected to every single artwork, I know that some of the emotions I expressed in my artworks are usual feelings we come across everyday. For example depression, it's a big part of our lives which have and still end up violence or mental illness. The way my artworks are presented will take my audience on an emotional ride from one to another trying to understand what my artworks are trying to tell and which theme they are focusing on specifically. I also gave my audience an opportunity to get engaged with different cultures and traditions both feeling wise and clothing wise. I hope my gallery is pleasing and you somehow felt connected to one or another.
Stop setting Us on fire

Oil Painting on Canvas
40cm x 30cm
In my artwork, I wanted to represent the beauty of my nation besides the hardships the people have been facing fifty years now. Year after year, the rights of women became weaker and almost disappeared. I used small colored stones to create the jewelry and the color palette that represents my country.

Michelangelo’s artwork called “creation of Adam” inspired my artwork. I believe on life after death, I think we can still have a connection with our loved ones even if they are not with us anymore. I wanted to express this feeling by drawing two hands touching, one hand is real human hand and the other one is skeleton hand both connecting from different worlds.

Ahmed Farzad’s artwork referred as to “George Floyd” Inspired my artwork. My artworks main idea was the attack that happened not long ago and left Kabul with a destroyed university and broken families. I wanted to make up a scene that would conclude the whole idea and represent my thoughts and how affected I am from this bad news. I used texture which I not use usually with oil painting but it work pretty well this time. My theme was emotion and I wanted to refer to sorrow/grief in this artwork.

I wanted to express the darkness of this image by using dark colors and bloody colors. I also added some shadows to make up the whole scene, and make the audience feel more connected to the theme. It’s an emotional, scary, and horrific scene anyone could be ever in.

Bob Ross's artwork called “three campfires” inspired my background. For my artwork, I wanted to use blue and pink sky just to give an idea of the “dream world” and then used the bottom part as a meaning of dirt. I wanted to create a sad atmosphere with equal colors to make my artwork look more realistic and understandable. More than expressing my own thought, it is the real-life and the hard truths most kids going through.

Color pencil, chalk pastel and blue pen on paper

Josh Beyer’s artwork called “Grief” shows a very clear image of a guy being very upset over something. I wanted to try chalk pastel because chalk pastel is very easy to blend in and play around with. I wanted to turn depression into artwork and I made a portrait that very much expresses tiredness, anxiety, unsleepiness, sickness, and depression.

Pencil on paper
30.5cm x 22.9cm
In this artwork, I wanted to use a pencil because I’m well introduced to adding details with a pencil. My intentions towards this artwork were the slow disappearance of people from this world and not realizing it until time hits the clock. This artwork is made to remind us that we don’t live in this world forever so make the time that we have worthy of living.
Picture of pain

Oil Painting, Acrylic painting, collage, hot glue and black pen
35cm x 27.5cm
Frida Kahlo’s artwork called “the wounded deer” inspired my artwork. It is sharing the same type of feeling with my painting, it’s showing pain in more than a couple types. For my painting, I wanted to include some unusual things such as candle, lighter, and manikin. I really wanted to put that idea of being different in this artwork and express my own feelings in it. I wanted to create an emotional atmosphere, with a creative sense in my artwork.
