Vladyslav Rutskyi
I had a hard time deciding what art theme I will be exploring throughout my body of work. My body of work is about portraits. The emotion that each portrait represents, each vibe, and story the artwork tells to the viewer were the main intentions for me to show. My initial concept was to study and show the portraits of people coming from different cultural societies, with different aims and goals. Portraits represent the beauty of the people's nature. I would like to make the viewer question the context of what and why is shown in the exhibit. Each piece is unique and questions the viewer to make their own assumptions and relate himself to some of the artworks.
In order to do so I tried to tackle the theme to different people. I experimented with the different media and the position of the people. The medium that I was feeling the most confident in is oils on canvas. Working with this exhibition was a new opportunity for me to explore new mediums, use new brushes and study different styles. Mostly I was trying to interpret the realistic style in different mediums. An example of these mediums were digital, collage, charcoal, oils, and graphite. Some artworks were influenced by my emotional statement I was during the time period of creating the artworks. Music also played a big role in the creation of the artwork. In some cases I have been using the literal meaning of the music in recreating it into the background of the artwork.
Every artwork exhibited represents its uniqueness, the way of how the artworks are exhibited and arranged follows the gallery style of being presented in the straight line. This type of gallery style helps the viewer to see each art piece separately, and see how the style and medium was communicated throughout the artwork. The artworks are arranged by the time spent coming from the left, the time spent on each of the artwork increases and after the artwork named "Explorers of the Unknown '' the time spent decreases. I do not have the favorite artwork in this body of work. I am proud of all of my artworks, so I decided to present my best 4 artworks in the middle, and for both sides of 2 other artworks were presented. Also my artworks are arranged and presented by its height, starting with the left side, the artworks height is increasing, later on when it progresses to the right, it is becoming larger and then after the artwork named "Explorers of the Unknown" the artworks size is decreasing.
Robbery
Digital media, Procreate
68.58 cm x 68.58 cm
This artwork was inspired by the digital artist creator named Nikko. His artworks, use of color, reflections, and details, inspired me to make artwork with similar intentions of the lightning, and details. My intentions were to make the artwork where I will portray the robbery scene with a cinematic effect.
Discoverers of the unknown
Oils on Canvas
40.64 cm 30.48 cm
This art piece has been inspired by three men who explore different places in search of the unknown. Being underground for a few days, risking their lives to get the truth of some never verified facts. Their hard job and their seeking for the truth inspired me to make this artwork. My intentions were to use a realistic style for the people and an impressionistic style for the background.

My intentions were to make a portrait in the modern style called collage. I was inspired by Patrick Bremer, his works predominantly focuses on the figure and portraiture in collage. The portraitures and the techniques he used inspired me to make my own art.
Life

68.58 cm x 68.58 cm
The inspiration to make this artwork was to show how people can be robots in their daily routine, so they don’t even get to notice how life passed. The artwork shows the robotic part of the people and the death mentally.
Quarantine
Digital media, Procreate
21 cm x 29 cm
This artwork was inspired by the times of the quarantine during which I have experienced depression, loneliness, and emptiness. With this artwork, I wanted to share those feelings of a circular type of life. Also, I wanted to experience the new art media where I have never worked before. My intentions were to make the viewer feel something close to themselves, during quarantine. The artwork uses a golden ratio.

My painting was inspired by my little 2 years old brother with whom I am spending not as much time as I would like to. During our walk in the park, I was making some photo shoots, and while I was looking through the pictures I was inspired to make this artwork.
Women Portraits
Graphite on paper
29cm x 21 cm
My inspirational artist is Sasha Ushkevich, he makes portraits using regular pencil and white pencil. I like his technique of using realistic art in his works. That is why I decided to make my own realistic portraits. It is also an experimental technique for me, and it is useful for my exploration in Comparative Study work.
