Cutely Cruel
9 cm x 8 cm x 9.5 cm
Clay
A shark engulfs a seal in it’s mouth, ready to close it. It’s cuteness does not excuse it from the cruelty nature holds for every animal. It is a tragic situation for the small seal, but a beneficial one for the shark. Scars on the shark shows that it has survived tough situations before and is now wanting to continue to survive. The seal was unfortunate enough to end up in this predicament, however both animals are important for a sustainable food chain. -
Dance of the ocean
1640 px x 2360 px
Digital art with Procreate
Two nurse sharks swim around each other above the rocky coral reef. As the sunlight shines down, it causes the sand beneath them to sparkle and glimmer. The different brush strokes and patterns give character and feelings to the sharks and the background. -
Life Finds a Way
2048 px x 2048 px
Digital art with Procreate
This artwork takes place in the far future where humanity has evolved elsewhere. The Golden gate bridge had sunken overtime and two dolphins swim over, inspecting the historical landmark. Despite all the wreckage and rusting, the lights still manage to shine bright, illuminating the roadway and revealing the cracks along the bridge. -
Safe in Your Hands
2360px x 1460px
Digital art with Procreate
In this art piece a shark and a whale dance around a glowing light, emitting from the dragon above who is their guardian. He is the protector of the ocean and seas, watching over all living things in his territory. Life springs from his claws and he's gentle to the touch, making sure he does not harm what he is supposed to protect. The fish compliment their dance as their guardian watches with admiration, only revealing his whiskers and claws. -
Water’s Memory
27.5 cm x 35 cm
Acrylic on canvas
A young boy walks down a hallway in a museum and sees a painting of an eye of a prehistoric sea creature. He reads the text under it and looks up to see it “staring” back at him. It’s orange eye stands out as it’s scales shine in the light. Being a creature of the past, it’s presence is still relevant in the present, as the world will always remember what once was. -
Breach for freedom
29.5 cm x 40 cm
Acrylic paint, newspaper, parchment paper
In an attempted escape for freedom, the orca breached up to the surface to get a glimpse of what the outside world has to offer.
The artist used mixed media to create the idea of escape. The messy Eric Carle-style for the water symbolizes all the chaos that life has to bring, while the gloomy color of the sky and more organized style of the mountains reflects a much calmer place than that of the water.

Inside the Tanks
45 cm x 32 cm
Alcohol marker with color pencil on drawing paper
This artwork was made with a burning passion and conservation of marine wildlife. Killer whales, better preferred to be called, “Orcas” are one of the most intelligent beings on this planet. This piece is to highlight the harm we bring to these animals by putting them into small tanks to perform tricks for the enjoyment of the public. Rough markings by alcohol markers help emphasize the emotion of the orca.
